Using an AED

When someone has a heart attack (sudden cardiac arrest or SCA), an AED can be used to deliver a short, powerful electric shock to help the heart regain its natural rhythm. Anyone can quickly learn to use an defibrillator – you don’t need to be a medical professional.

Using an AED is as easy as 1, 2, 3:

  2. Apply pads
  3. Shock
