Waterlily & Co proudly present the very first Festival of India in Paekākāriki!
Featuring two of Aotearoa’s most renowned Indian classical dance and music ensembles along with a classic film, food and boutique stalls.

Saturday 1st October
5 – 6pm: Vivek Kinra’s Mudra Dance Company
6.30 – 8.30pm: Basant Madhur Ensemble (Tabla, Sitar, Harmonium, Violin)

Prior knowledge of Indian not essential.
Attendees can bring any acoustic instrument of their choice.
Suitable for all ages, from intermediate to professional levels.
Please bring a cushion to sit on like the tutors. Chairs be available if required.

Classic Film “Shakespeare Wallah” (1965), English and Hindi with subtitles.
Romance-comedy starring pre-Bollywood superstar Shashi Kapoor, Felicity Kendal (BBC’s The Good Life), Madhur Jaffrey. By kind permission of Merchant Ivory Productions.
Shakespeare Wallah is a 1965 Merchant Ivory Productions film. The story and screenplay are by Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, about a travelling family theatre troupe of English actors in India, who perform Shakespeare plays in towns across India, amidst a dwindling demand for their work and the rise of Bollywood. The music was composed by Satyajit Ray.

Tickets $10. All proceeds to St Peters Village Hall upkeep.
