Long-term Plan pop-up
April 10 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Council popping-up next month to talk Long-term Plan, including options for the seawall
Councillors will be there to get people’s views on a number of key decisions, including revisiting the approach to repairing the Paekākāriki Seawall, and discuss some of the big issues facing our district such as housing, growth, and recovering from the pandemic.
The Long-term Plan is a big deal because it lays out the mahi Council intends to do over the next 20 years. It details the planned activities, services and projects, how much things are likely to cost and how we plan to pay for them. This plan will have an impact on everyone living on the Kāpiti Coast.
Consultation on the proposed Long-term Plan 2021-41 will run April 7 to May 10 2021 and I encourage everyone in our community to have a good read of the consultation document, especially the information that relates to the replacement of the Paekākāriki Seawall, and have their say. The draft consultation document is now available on the Council website as part of the agenda papers for Council to approve the document for consultation and can be found at the following link: Agenda of Council Meeting – Thursday, March 25, 2021 (infocouncil.biz)
If you can’t make the pop-up, you can pick up a copy of the consultation document from our district libraries, aquatic centres and Council service centres. Information will also be available at kapiticoast.govt.nz.
