Paekākāriki Film Festival

An event every week that begins at 5:30 pm on Sunday, repeating until Sunday, September 13, 2020
PAEKAKARIKI FILM FESTIVAL 2020. Chase away the Covid blues with 8 warm films for winter, curated by Aro Video. Every Sunday 5.30pm from July 26th to September 13th at St. Peter’s Hall.
It’s only $50 per subscription to The Paekakariki Film Club which equates to only $6.25 per film, otherwise casual door sales are $10 (and you don’t have to be a member).
To subscribe to our festival please deposit $50 per person into BNZ A/C 02-0733-0096820-027. Reference is your first name, last name, sub.
We need at least 20 members to cover the film licence fees.
Members are given a membership card at their first film. We will run the ever popular snack counter again selling home baking, ice creams, popcorn, tea and coffee. (home-baking gifts gratefully accepted 😊)
The Paekakariki Film Club is under the umbrella of the Paekakariki Community Trust which has been hit with massive but vital renovation costs recently, (and of course no income during lockdown), one being a lovely new but necessary floor of recycled, polished, oiled matai. (it looks fabulous!) But a lot of other repairs via borer, and rot were discovered proving very expensive. So please support our beautiful community-owned hall.
The hall has good heating and we now have an updated sound system.
To remember what lockdown was like we’re kicking off with the classic ‘Groundhog Day’ starring Bill Murray.
