Silent short from Gilbert Haisman ‘Neighbours’ – Buster Keaton, (USA,1920)

“A thrilling and novel way to enjoy the confluence of cinema, music, and live performance. The new original score, composed by Andrew Laking, was an exciting piece of original New Zealand composition. The troupe’s dramaturgical decisions, particularly around using a woman narrator as an interesting feminist counterpoint to the strange ancient misogyny of the film’s story, was a hugely effective part of the overall impact of the show.” Gaylene Preston ONZM, Filmmaker.

Proudly supported by PaekākārikiVillage Grocery, The Deli, The Perching Parrot, PaekākārikiCommunity Trust and Arovision.co.nz

All proceeds go towards the upkeep of St. Peter’s Village Hall, Paekākāriki.
