The Dogs of Paekākāriki photo exhibition by Bob Zuur

10am – 2pm on Saturday 27 November at St Peter’s hall (opening with tea, coffee and homemade food).
10am to 2pm Sunday 28 November

Koha for the St Peter’s Hall upkeep would be appreciated.

During the last week of lockdown in August 2021, Bob Zuur photographed dogs and their humans on Paekākāriki Beach.

“Something I noticed when walking my dog on Paekākāriki Beach during lockdown was that lots of others were also doing this: walking, or running, or cycling with their dogs safely on the beach. So I took my camera, put on my mask, stayed at least four metres from people (I used a telephoto lens) and very quickly took some photos.”
The result is an exhibition of about 50 photos.  Recognising the importance of dogs in our lives, on Saturday some dog protection and management organisations will be present to describe their work and promote responsible dog ownership.
