A special ‘returning home’ concert from an exciting European jazz duo: kiwi pianist Alex Ventling is back again with British drummer, Phelan Burgoyne, as they tour their much awaited album, ‘The View’.
Originally from Auckland and now based in Trondheim, Alex has become an active member of the European jazz scene, where he met Phelan during the European Jazz Masters program. The duo showcased their music across Europe, Asia, and will complete their release tour in New Zealand.
The connection built over years of musical friendship is unmistakable in Alex and Phelan’s interaction on stage. With a vast sound-world of possible colours and textures, the duo take the space and freedom to explore and improvise together.
