About the Show

Henny Penny – The SKY is FALLING DOWN! is a brand-new, laugh-out-loud family show written by Kāpiti/Wellington playwright Andrew Thomson and performed by talented young actors from The Academy of Dramatic Arts.
When: 29 & 30 Sept, 1 Oct, & 6-8 Oct – 10:30am
Where: St Peter’s Village Hall
Inspired by the classic tale of Henny Penny, this fast-paced adventure follows a brave little chicken who believes the sky is falling and sets off on a hilarious journey filled with colourful characters, audience participation, catchy songs, and plenty of surprises. Along the way, audiences will meet a mischievous fox, a lovable rabbit, a rather dramatic rooster, a very hungry piggy-wiggy, and even Little Red Riding Hood!
Performed during the September/October school holidays, Henny Penny – The SKY is FALLING DOWN! is suitable for the whole family and promises to put a fresh, funny twist on a much-loved classic.
This production has been supported by the Kāpiti Coast District Council Creative Communities Scheme and Creative New Zealand, whose investment in local arts and young people has helped bring this exciting production to the stage.
