Paekākāriki Informed Community (PICI) are thrilled to announce the appointment of three outstanding locals to help guide our community website platform Paekākāriki.nz forward. We salute them! Jenny Clark has taken over as fortnightly email newsletter editor (if you aren’t getting this you really should subscribe), Jude Galtry as Stories Editor and Fiona Gunter-Firth as website manager. Mark Amery continues to provide guidance as needed on behalf of PICI with Anna Butterfield of Helpmenet our technical manager  To get in touch, provide listings or stories, to help or join our awesome group of supporting local businesses being promoted, email [email protected].

Fiona Gunter-Firth has worked as a freelance creative and art director in the NZ screen industry. As the first manager of the Toi Poneke Arts Center Wellinton she established support systems for the many creatives based there. She has also managed and marketed property.  Fiona was involved in the establishment of the Cubadupa Festival,  working as the programme manager and in community liaison. Her skills are varied and she looks forward to volunteering for Paekakariki.NZ. One of them is as a photographer as the images with this story attest.

Jude Galtry is a researcher and writer, and a long-time Paekākāriki resident. After a long and varied research career, she now writes biographies and stories, published online at Paekākāriki.nz and Newsroom. If you have a story, essay or a poem related to Paekākāriki that might be suitable for publication in Paekākāriki.nz, please email it to Jude with the subject PAEKĀKĀRIKI STORY in screaming caps. From Jenny: “I’m Jenny Clark and most of you are likely to know me and husband Ian from doing the book fair (along with many other volunteers) for the past four years. Now that we’ve passed that on to Eric Rodler (and yes, he wants your books!), I’ve volunteered to help out with the Paekākāriki newsletter.

Ian and I have been in Paekakariki since 2006, and love the way everyone joins in to make this a wonderful village.” Jenny has written previously for the website and contributed much to the village. She has an extensive professional background in communication.
