Scout Hall and Tool Library

The Scout Hall is a rustic venue in a beautiful park setting, perfect for small events, such as community group meetings/meals, regular classes, work gatherings/meetings, children’s birthday parties and adult celebrations during the day/early evening. It is not suitable for overnight use, except by pre-approved Scouts Aotearoa groups.

The Hall is 6 meters by 12 meters with a wooden floor. The entrance and the toilet are wheelchair accessible.

The hall has a side room where there are seven folding tables, approximately 15 chairs and several wooden bench seats. The hall has lights and heating.

There is a side room kitchen with plenty of cups, cutlery and crockery. There is a fridge, an oven, hobs, microwave, zip and kettle, sink, cleaning supplies. There is also a basic first aid kit in the kitchen.
The Hall is available for hire for $10 per hour, up to a maximum price of $40 per day.

This rate is negotiable, depending on the nature of the event. Discounts can be applied for children’s events and community events.

If you cancel your booking, we invite you to pay a koha. There is no fixed cancellation fee.

Payment of agreed fee to “Paekakariki Scouts Group” 38-9019-0207256-00.

Summary of Terms and Conditions of Hire:
Absolutely no alcohol or drugs.
The hall is to be vacated by 9.00pm. The hall is surrounded by noise sensitive neighbours, and generally subjected to the Kāpiti Coast District Council’s noise control regulations.

Turn on the mains power when you arrive. Don’t turn on the outside lights, unless you really need to.

When you leave, lock the side door, turn off all lights, heaters and electrical appliances. Turn off mains power.

No candles, fires or naked flames can be used in or around the Hall. (Birthday cake candles are the exception to this rule!)

Hirers agree to be responsible financially for any damage to the hall or its equipment.
Hirers agree to be responsible for Health and Safety of the event.
Hirers are responsible for bringing your own tea towels, table cloths and rubbish bags, and cleaning up after using the hall.

The hall should be left in the condition it was in before the hire, with all the chairs and tables put away, with the floor swept and mopped if needed.

Please take your rubbish, including from the area around the hall. We encourage you to separate it into landfill rubbish, recycling and food scraps. The latter can be taken down to Community Garden compost bins.

If the Scout Hall and surroundings are not left clean and tidy, the hirer will be charged an additional fee to pay for a cleaner.

All hirers must agree to these terms and conditions.
