Set up in 1997 to reverse the drastic decline of coastal forest, we’re aiming to create a continuous ribbon of bird-safe native forest from Porirua through to Waikanae. Working with our partners at Whareroa Farm Reserve and Queen Elizabeth Regional Park our vision is to tap into the phenomenal success of pest control on Kāpiti and Mana Islands – bringing back tui, bellbirds, kereru, kaka and kakariki. Members and volunteers are our greatest asset.

Pukerua Bay Working Group
Committee member Steve Mann has been busy organising a new group to begin work down at the Pukerua Bay end weeding and getting planting sites ready for next winter’s planting season. If you would like to get involved please email Steve with “Pukerua Bay” somewhere in the subject line.
Trapping
Ngā Uruora traps and kills hundreds of predator species every year. We have an extensive trapping network and we are always looking for more volunteers to help with checking and rebaiting these traps. For more information email Pete McLaughlin.
