Paekākāriki Film Festival

Paekākāriki Film Club

The club shows films in St Peter’s Hall, Paekākāriki to raise funds to maintain and upgrade the hall’s facilities. All profits go to the St Peter’s Hall fund. New volunteers (particularly anyone bringing baking for the snack bar) are always welcome.

Check out our Winter Film Festival Programme

For 2020, our season’s curator is Andrew Armitage of Aro Video. While Andrew is a recent arrival to our town, he is a very experienced film fan having run Aro Video since 1989. He has selected a broad variety of feel-good films to uplift us this winter.

It costs only $50 to join to see all 8 movies over the winter, so less than $7 per movie compared to $17 at the cinema (plus travel). We will have door sales at $10 each for the casual punter and can seat up to 165. The films run from Sunday July 26th 5.30pm through to Sunday Sep 13th. Each evening will start with a short film (also selected by Andrew) which will showcase a range of talents from around the world. A snack bar will be open during the short film as well as before all screenings.
