Wellington Hang Gliding & Paragliding Club

Members of the Wellington Hang Gliding & Paragliding Club have been flying the coastal escarpment above Paekākāriki since 1973.  When there is a gentle wind between 15 and 25 km/hr coming from between the west and north you can often see us flying above the Paekakariki Hill Road lookout. We land on the beach in front of Fisherman’s Table and sometimes at Ames Park. Feel free to check our weather station to see what the wind is doing: https://holfuy.com/en/weather/763.

To contact the club please visit www.whgpc.org.nz to find the list of current committee members.  No one offers commercial tandem flights in the Wellington region.  The club meets on the first Tuesday of every even numbered month.  Please contact a committee member for more details.
If you want to learn to fly or have a tandem flight somewhere else please visit the NZ Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association’s website: www.nzhgpa.org.nz
