St Peter’s Hall
Still legendary!
Paekākāriki’s annual legendary Book Fair is on from 12-14 July in St Peter’s Hall. Co-organiser Eric Rodler says the range and quality of donated books are even more amazing this year.
“Books are pouring in – novels, classics, non-fiction, travel, sport, military, gardening, cooking, children’s…truly something for everyone. It seems that people are having a really good clear out.
“So now all we need are people to come and buy all the books of their choice, and for a very good price! It’s a flat $3 a book or $10 for five. Children’s books are 50c. Some rare or special books are priced separately. Novels are sorted into alphabetical order by author and non-fiction into categories. Sorting is done during the week by our many wonderful volunteers from up and down the coast. It’s a great community event in Kāpiti.”
The Book Fair’s gala opening is at 6pm on Friday 12 July, $5 at the door with wine, snacks and music. Entry is free on Saturday (10am-5pm) and Sunday (10am to 2pm).
Proceeds go to the maintenance of St Peter’s Hall.
